Rnd 10: (dec) x10 [10]

Rnd 11: sc all around [10]

Rnd 12: (sc, inc) x5 [15]

Fasten off using the invisible finish and leave a long tail. Follow the tutorial for shaping the bulb below.

Step 1: Thread the needle with the tail and go into the center of the bulb and out 1 rnd below where you fastened off. [img 2]

Step 2:

Go down the side of the bulb and into the center of the base. Then, go out the top. Tug on the tail firmly. [img 3]

Step 3: Repeat step 2 for a total of 6 sections on the bulb, making each section ~6-7 sts. [img 4]

ASSEMBLY:

Head/Body: Sew the body onto the back of the head between rnds 8-12, ~12 sts apart. [img 5]

Ears: Flatten each ear and sew them on the head between rnds 5-8. [img 5]

*Top view of the head for better reference.

*Note: Lay the body against a flat surface and pin the limbs on so they touch the surface. Do NOT eyeball this or you'll have floating limbs!

Arms: Sew the arms on 6 sts apart from the belly-side between rnds 1-3 (counting from the neck to the bottom of the body). [img 6]

Legs: Sew the legs on 6 sts apart from the belly-side between rnds 11-13. [img 6]

Bulb: Sew the bulb onto the back across ~8 sts to make sure it sits flat on the body. [img 7]

*Tip: Use sewing pins to mark the line of symmetry on the face.

Mouth: *Watch my tutorial HERE.

Step 1: Cut a strand of brown embroidery thread (undo 1 strand to make it thinner if you have the kind with 6 strands and set it aside).

Step 2: Go into the side of the head and leave a short tail (for securing into a knot at the end). Come out between rnds 11-12.

Step 3: The whole mouth is 3 sts wide. Count 1.5 sts (for this, you will need to go in between the "x" of the st) and leave a little slack to create the curve. [img 8]

Eyes: Cut a long strand of coral embroidery thread and create the eyes spanning rnds 11-12, 2 rnds tall. [img 8]

Eyebrows: Use the strand of brown embroidery thread that we saved from the mouth and embroider 2 diagonal eyebrows above the eyes. For this, you may need to go in between the "x" shaped sts as well. [img 8]

Spots: Cut 6 triangles out of teal felt and round out the edges. Secure them onto the forehead and left "hip" area with fabric glue. [img 9]
