Rnd 1: Make a slipknot and ch 9. Starting from the second ch from the hook, sc into the next 7 ch, make 3 sc into the next ch. Turn and work along the bottom of the ch. sc into the next 6 ch, inc into last ch and slst into the first st of the rnd [18]

*Note: The new rnd starts after the slst.

Rnd 2: (6 sc, 3 inc), repeat [24]

Rnd 3: sc all around [24]

Rnd 4: (6 sc, dec) x3 [21]

Change to Orange yarn and cut the Yellow yarn.

Rnd 5: sc all around [21]

Rnd 6: (5 sc, dec) x3 [18]

Rnd 7: sc all around [18]

Rnd 8: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) x3 [15]

If adding a face, cut ~6 in. [~15 cm] of Brown embroidery floss for the mouth. Separate two strands to work with and embroider a smile 1 st wide.

*Tip: To create a subtle curved smile, add a small dab of UHU glue to the mouth to secure it in place, 1/2 st tall.

Insert the safety eyes between rnds 7-8, 1 st away from each side of the mouth (4 sts apart total).

Change to White yarn and cut the Orange yarn.

Rnd 10: (3 sc, dec) x3 [12]

Rnd 11: sc all around [12]

Stuff.

Rnd 12: (2 sc, dec) x3 [9]

Rnd 13: (sc, dec) x3 [6]

Fasten off and leave a tail for closing up the piece.

Stuff one last time using fine point tweezers to get into the narrow opening.

Go through the flo and pull the hole closed. [img]

Bonus Idea: Turn your candy corn into fun Halloween decor by making it into a garland or keychain. Or, make it in thread to make the cutest earrings!
