Stuff and be sure not to overstuff. This is important because creating the segments of the pumpkin will require the pouf to have some wiggle room.
*Tip: This is a perfect project to reuse your yarn scraps and to reduce waste! I like to blend it with fiber fill stuffing to give it a more consistent texture and stuff the piece a little at a time.

Rnd 46: (dec) x8 [8]
Fasten off and leave a tail for closing up the piece. Weave through the flo with the yarn needle and pull the hole closed. [img]
SHAPING
*Note: At this point, your Pumpkin Pouf may look like an orange! Before you begin the next few steps, it's important to understand the construction of the pumpkin segments. We will be using a long strand of cotton yarn (much sturdier and won't snap as easily) to create symmetrical lines on the pumpkin. Cinching each segment evenly will help create the beautiful segments. There will be 8 in total.
Step 1: Cut 4 ft [~122 cm] of Orange cotton yarn.
Step 2: Use the yarn needle and weave into the bottom center and out the top center of the pumpkin. Leave a 6 in. [~15 cm] yarn tail. We will be using this to secure a knot at the end.
Step 3: Weave around the pumpkin and into the same entry point at the bottom of the pumpkin again.
Step 4: Weave back out the top center and weave around the opposite side of the pumpkin. You should now have a line of symmetry.
Step 5: Hold onto the short yarn tail we left at the beginning and cinch the yarn tightly!
Step 6: Repeat the same method to create a perpendicular line and cinch tightly.
Step 7: Repeat the same method to create a diagonal line and cinch tightly.
Step 8: Repeat the same method to create the opposite diagonal line and cinch tightly.
Step 9: Weave back out to where your starting yarn tail is and secure the two tails into a knot.
Step 10: Weave the excess tails into the pumpkin.
