BROOMSTICK
In Americano yarn
For the shaft,
Rnd 1: Make a magic circle and (sc) x4 [4]
Fold about ~8 in. of floral wire in half and twist it to give it more structure. Insert it into the broom stick after rnd 5 and then continue crocheting around it.
Rnds 2-12 (11 rnds total): sc all around [4]
Fasten off and leave a short tail to weave in.
Next, we will make the brush.
We will need ~26 strands of Beige yarn, 6 in. [~15 cm] each. You may need more or less, depending on how thick your yarn is. We want a fuller broom if anything!
Step 1: Wrap the yarn around 3 fingers 26 times. [img 3]
Step 2: Cut the loops in half. [img 4]
Step 3: Use your crochet hook to pull 5 strands through each of the sts of the broomstick shaft. [img 5]
Step 4: Use one strand of Beige yarn to tie the bristles together 1 cm below the shaft. [img 6]
Step 5: Trim the bristles to an even length. [img 7]
FINISHING TOUCHES
